Co-Location Option
The reductions in cost for servers and other computer equipment make disk to
disk operations, RAID capabilities and offsite redundant Server Vaults a viable
option.
History has shown us that ff there is one breakdown in the overall
performance in systems recoveries after 9/11 and Katrina is that in large scale
disaster, the first come, “first come, first serve approach” of many of the
offsite disaster recovery centers, assures some companies will be left
helpless. The pain of paying for space, that is not a guaranteed recovery slot,
has caused many to seek another alternative.
The constant reduction in size of data centers coupled with the increase in
speed and capacity of today’s data center platforms, affords the client the
ability to set up their own recovery site or co-location center.
Facilitating this center within the Media Vault and Electronic Records
Storage Center is a natural. The infrastructure is already there:
1) The communications grid
2) High speed internet access
3) Power supply &UPS Systems
4) High level security around the
facility
5) Bonded employees trained to
assist in a disaster.
6) Abundant space and defined HVAC
Systems
7) A location that your staff is
familiar with and where your offsite data back up and offsite media are already
in residence. Thus eliminating the scariest part of a recovery, moving the data
out of the vault and to the new facility. |
